| Forge Ahead A hand cold forged stainless steel figure is about to install the next rung to be able to continue its journey.... "Forge Ahead" is on display at the Landing Gallery in Woodbury Long Island. All of my ladder sculptures are original and one of a kind. Each figure is created by hand from a 1/4" thick plate of stainless steel. I use the cold forging method to maintain the integrity of the stainless steel. If enough heat was used to soften the steel and make it easier to bend and form, it would also burn off the elements that give stainless its corrosion resistant properties.
