| Serene Graceful and gentle, an amazing creation. The tallest wonder of the animal nation. Silently feeding on tender leaves, she moves so slowly from tree to tree. Spotted and colored to help her blend in, speed and strength on four legs so thin. Fluidly spends her day watching and walking, never uttering a sound, no crying nor talking. | Serene is our first animal sculpture. A photo of a
baby Giraffe that we took during a visit to the zoo
served as inspiration. She was fun to create and we have
received rave reviews from everyone who has seen her in
person !! We used heavy gauge steel for her body, and created the spots by welding the outline of each by hand with Stainless Steel. In the photo above there is a view during her construction. After she was completed, we put her in our "Natural Rust Patina Farm" where she is wet down every hour for a few weeks until she developed a nice brown color. We do not use any acids, chemicals, or enhancers to create the rust. We prefer good old water, sunshine, and time. The effect of the Stainless Steel against the rust looks great. We then coated her with Linseed Oil which sealed the surface to prevent further rusting. Serene is a beautiful sculpture that will be at home in your yard, garden, or even in your home. |
